Meet The Owner

Kim Thornton — Certified Canine Behavior Specialist | Owner, Dog Daycare Canton

For Kim, dogs aren’t just her career—they’re her calling. A lifelong animal lover, Kim originally studied to become a veterinarian. But when her son, Conner, was diagnosed with cerebral palsy, her path shifted in a life-changing way.

Their family adopted and trained a support dog for Conner—and the transformation was remarkable. He grew more confident, independent, and excited to go to school. Watching the bond between her son and his dog inspired Kim to dedicate her life to helping others experience that same connection.

Kim went on to become a Certified Canine Behavior Specialist, completing her hours through PetSmart and PetCo and working with local counties to evaluate and train dogs of all temperaments.

Today, Kim’s joy comes from creating spaces where dogs can grow, play, and learn—and where owners can see their pets become the best version of themselves. Through her work, she continues to make a difference—one dog, one family, and one wagging tail at a time.
